Week 4 reading response

After analyzing your main character in a closer manner, you should now be able to compare and contrast that character in your book and with the main character in the class read. In the H-chart or in 3 paragraph compare and contrast these two characters. Determine which one you identify the most with and why?

In my book The True Confessions of Charlotte Doyle by Ruth E. Murry. The things that are different from Doyle and Jonas Is that Doyle is a girl that never talks about her parents because they took her away from them when she was very young. She dose not have a home she lives in a ship with the owner on the ship and they always make her work. Also, she looks more like a person that dose not like to talk to people that she dose not know and she dose not like to ask questions about things she has to do until they tell her to. Another things,is that she dose not have to leave her home at the age

In the book The Giver by Lois Lowry. The things that are different about Jonas and Doyle is that Jonas is a guy that dose not have his real parents but has people that treat him like his own son. He has a very different life from my main character they are different because he has to leave his home at the age 12 and Doyle doesn't.Also,Jonas has a little sister, and Doyle has to work for money and Jonas works for no money.

The things that I think they have in common is that they both have to leave their homes to go work. Also, they are both very young and have not meet there real parents.Another thing,is that Jonas and Doyle both have beliefs and don't judge life the way they have they have beliefs is that Doyle beliefs she will once meet her parents and Jonas beliefs that there community will change.

I really don't have a connection with both of them because I have both of my parents and I got to be with my parents also what I don't have in comment is that I don't have to leave my house at a early age to go work.

Week 3 RR? - Understanding my character(s)

(Be sure to include quote and page number!!)

You must use at LEAST 2 quotes from the book.

Understanding your character is a good way for you to really get into your book and see from another person's perspective. In your response this week, describe your character. Think about and discuss:

-1. your main character's personality

- 2. how they act/behave

- 3. what they look like

- 4. how old they are

- 5 what sort of education do you think that they have

- 6 who their friends and family are

- 7 what their financial (money) situation is

- 8 and what their job is (if they have one).

In my book The True Confessions of Charlotte Doyle by Ruth E.Murray.My main character different from other books I have read she is different because it doesn't talk about her family and also, because she doesn't have big problems like other kids in the book. The age she looks like is a 8 or 9 year old I a guessing this because she is very young and also because she doesn't go to school so I really don't know what age she is she doesn't go to school because she is always traveling to a "ship to different place." The way I describe is by looking at the cover the cover looks like a girl that is wearing blue pants with a white shirt and she is holding a rope in her hand.

I really don't think she has family member because she never talks about them her friend is Mr.Grummage because she always tells him her ideas and problems she has. The way I describe him is old man, short with a hoke on his hand with a blue new long jacket. She doesn't have money because of the she dress also, because she is "always working on the ship. Her job is helping Mr.Grummage take care of the ship."

Week2 April 4.April 8

Review the book description found on the back cover of your book. Using this information and this information only alone, construct two alternate titles for the book that appeal to you.Pick one of the two titles and create an advertising catch phrase and describe (in a complete paragraph)the movie poster to sell the newly titled novel.

Original title:The True Confessions of Charlotte Doyle
New title #1:The unrecognized sound
New title #2:A rat on my journal
Catch phrase:An unknown voice flying through the air.

My book is called The True Confessions of Charlotte Doyle by Ruth E.Murray.The cover of my book is an old sea ship an mirror reflecting to a girl in a dress from the days they dressed very fancy. What the mirror is showing is that there are two different parts to the story the sea ship looks like a slavery ship because the girls clothes is very dirty and also on the other side of the mirror it shows a girl that is well dressed and is rich.

Week 1 March 21, 2011

March 18,2011
Give the title, author, publisher, copyright date, genre (how do you know the genre - from the back of the book, the title page, the text?), a description of the cover of the book, and the main character(s) you have met so far and on what page you first met them.

My book The True Confessions of Charlotte Doyle,by Ruth E.Murray the
publisher is Holt,Rinehart, copy right date was 1990.

The genre is Historical Fiction I know because it looks like it is going to be about the days from a long time ago when the wars were going on, and also I know because I asked my teacher.

The main character I have met so far is Doyle and Mr.Grummage the page I first met them is on page 7.Doyle was talking about how much she loves Mr.Grummage as her father.
Doyle is a girl that is dressed as a person from the wars and the girl that is in the slavery ship.

The cover of the book looks like the days from a long time ago when the wars were going on and also when the days of slavery were also going on I know this because the girl in the cover is wearing a dress from along time ago and also there is a ship in front of her and she is wearing clothes like in the slavery.

I am reading this book because Ms, Luthey said I need a different type of gender,I do like the cover because if you look at it you will see that it is talking about two different types of story's,I think the book is getting better because they are talking more about what is happing in the type of society, the things that are going on in the book right now is that Doyle is a slave and she needs to be doing lots of things that she doesn't like and I think that not far because those people don't know how they feel.

December,3,2010

We've been looking and studying how we relate to our characters and the real world around us. Now it's time to put yourself into your character's shoes. Thinking about the main character of your book, consider what you would do in their situation. 1. What would your reactions be? 2. How would you handle the situation? 3. What would you do differently? Be sure to use complete sentences and EVIDENCE to support your thinking.

My book is called Jacob have I Loved by Katherine Paterson
. If I was in my characters shoes I would not like my life because she always has to do every thing and sometimes her family doesn't like her the house with her family because she always cause problems to there family. But sometimes she has lots of fun when she not at home because she has fun with all her friends that always list to the problems and give her comments what what she shouldn't do or what she needs to do.What I would do differently is tell my mom that every one is diffrent and if she wants someone else to get someone else.My reactions will be what kind of my treats her son like that.
